Martin Luther posted his 95 Thesis in Wittenberg, Germany: The 95 Theses was a formal and public objection to indulgence abuse and a call to return to Scripture and faith in Christ as the foundation of salvation.  The main idea was that Faith alone, not money or works, reconciles people to God. From this came other reformers (Calvin, Zqingli, Tyndale, and others) who were calling the church back to the Gospel and which started the Great Reformation.

Out of this reformation, came the 5 Solas.

o         Sola Scriptura – Scripture Alone

o         Sola Gratia – Grace Alone

o         Sola Fide – Faith Alone

o         Solus Christus – Christ Alone

o         Soli Deo Gloria – Glory to God Alone
